The Royal Palace in Constanta is the first royal residence by the sea. Today, the building you see in front of you houses the Court of Constanta. Construction of the Royal Palace began in 1902 and was completed in 1906.
As you can see, the building has a basement, ground floor, first floor and attic and exudes a beautiful neo-Romanesque style.
If you’re wondering how long the Royal Palace had been in use, well, by 1922 it had already gone into the administration of the Ministry of Justice, with King Ferdinand and Queen Mary giving it up.
In 1924 the county courthouse opened here.
And, if we started the discussion about the administrative buildings, let’s see which was the seat of the first town hall in Constanta. Take a few steps east and you’ll see it.

The building was erected between 1893-1896 to serve as the town hall or commune council, as it was then called.
The town hall functioned here for only 10 years, from 1896 to 1906. By 1906 it had already outgrown the needs of the growing and expanding city.
