Below are the best restaurants in Bucharest organized by category.
This will make it easier to find your way around.
Traditional Romanian Restaurants in Bucharest
For a traditional Romanian lunch or dinner, here are our recommendations:
Lacrimi & Sfinti Restaurant
Restaurant Lacrimi și Sfinți is located in the old center of Bucharest and is one of the best traditional restaurants in the city. The décor is carefully designed with Romanian accents. We were pleasantly impressed by the varied menu, with many Romanian dishes from all corners of the country.
Here we tried the cappucino de hribi, a creamy hribi soup with zucchini and leeks, served with chili pepper jam. We also tried the goat cheese on vine leaves as an appetizer. A delight. For the main course we tried the Border Pork, a juicy roast of mangosteen sirloin with garlic and orange. And we finished with a plum and date stuffed turkey, served with caramelized peas. So put this place on your list for a unique dining experience in Bucharest!

Restaurants Bucharest with fish specialties
If you like fish and seafood, here are some recommendations of good fish restaurants in Bucharest:
Juicy Crab Restaurant
Juicy Crab is a unique restaurant in Bucharest, where you will find perhaps the best seafood. If you love succulent, meaty and well-seasoned seafood, this is the place to be.
We tried Juicy Crab’s bag of assorted seafood, slow-cooked with cajun sauce. To savor it, you get disposable gloves and apron, and the seafood is served directly on the table. Yes, you heard right. It’s a unique concept in Bucharest, so it’s worth trying. The bag contains shrimp, clams, mussels, squid, crab, potatoes, corn, egg and rice. It’s delicious. Of course, the menu also includes octopus, fish and chips, sea bass and many other delicious options.

Pizza Bucharest – Where we ate good pizza
There are so many pizzerias in Bucharest, it might be hard to find a really good pizza. So here’s our recommendation:
Pizza Central
When in the mood for good pizza, just like in Italy, this is where we go. You can’t forget the Neapolitan crust, slow-baked for 48 hours, made with maia. It’s crazy. Plus all the toppings are brought from Italy, so they use the best ingredients. And it shows.
I tried Pizza Suspiria here, with zucchini, fior di latte, ricotta, gorgonzola, parmesan, truffle salsa and basil. And now as I type I’m gulping dryly after it :))) I also tried the Cicciolina pizza, with mortadella, fior di latte, ricotta, straciatella, parmesan, pistachios and basil. A memorable pizza. Certainly, all their varieties are absolutely delicious. And the location is also a must, right on Calea Victoriei, where we do guided tours in Bucharest!

Indian Restaurants Bucharest
For lovers of inspired food in Mumbai, we have a great Indian restaurant recommendation in Bucharest:
Namaste Restaurant

“Namaste is the Indian greeting. And Namaste is a great introduction to the world of Indian cuisine. Here we’ve tasted some of the best Indian food I’ve ever tried.
The restaurant owner is Indian and so are the chefs. Therefore, the taste is authentic, just like in India. I tried samosas, fried vegetable parcels, as an appetizer. The Indian cheese fritters with peppers are also delicious. For the main course, the chicken curry is insane. It’s made with yogurt-marinated chicken breast cooked in a thick tomato sauce with ginger and Indian spices. It’s served with plain rice or naan, the typical Indian delicacy. They also have a wide variety of lentil dishes and unique sauces. Don’t miss their special desserts either.
📍 Location – 37 Mantuleasa Street
